Dear Addie,

This week has been filled with high emotions and unmeasurable exhaustion as we participated in the often unpopular game of chasing symptoms in our autism journey.

Allow me to explain.

When you have a child who struggles to express their feelings like yourself, you become very attuned to physical and behavioral changes. Sometimes, these changes can occur gradually over a few weeks, while other times they can happen suddenly, as if a light switch has been turned on. Now add in how some symptoms can mean multiple different things, and it can all lead to feeling like Sherlock Holmes when all I want to be is Mary Poppins...But I digress.

This past week, we were on the move, chasing symptoms and trying to feel better mentally and physically. We were in and out of the hospital, saw multiple doctors, and underwent a series of tests. Our fingers are crossed that we may have found some answers, and we are on our way to being back on track, hopefully soon.

Now, who's ready for a nap?

Love,

Mom
