Dear Addie,

There we were, first in line at the car wash as it started to rain. A scene that maybe didn't make sense to most, but it didn't need to either.

Your stimming this week was in overdrive for one reason or another, and you needed calm. You needed a reset. You needed some peace, and for you, you seem to find that at the car wash. So the car wash we went.

The water, bubbles, humming sounds, and that high-powered, super suction vacuum soothe your soul in a way only you understand. So there we were, first in line as it started to rain.

Addie life can so often throw us all unexpected challenges, causing stress for various reasons. If you ever have the opportunity to help someone find their peace—no matter how unusual it may seem to you—if it causes no harm, please do so. We are all better together, and even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference to someone when they may need it the most.

This weekend, we were the first in line at the car wash when it started to rain. I couldn't imagine a better place to be than right there, helping you find your peace again. Even if it didn't totally make sense to most people, I knew this wasn’t about me or anyone else; it was solely about you, and I was happy to help.

Love you baby girl and your beautiful smile.

Mom
